Uleung
Island, nicknamed "Mysterious Island", is a popular weekend getaway
spot for Seoulites.
Curious
rock formations, shore cliffs and numerous waterfalls adorn the island’s
Seaside Road.
Anyone
planning to walk or bike their way around Uleung Island should make sure they
set aside enough time, as they will inevitably stop countless times to admire
the glorious view.
Ferry and bus tours are available.
There are local mini-buses that carry about a dozen people at a time.
Taxis may be a good option to get around the island.
Ulleungdo does not have an airport, so access is only possible by ferries, operated by Dae-A Express and Seaspovill.
The high speed ferry takes about 2 hours to go around the island.
The island is strewn with different types of housing for tourists.
About 10 minutes out of Dodong, in the mountainside can find the Ulleung Marina Tourist Hotel.
